How do I get involved?
It’s super easy. Create a profile on United Way’s volunteer portal and look up the Columbia City Serve “agency.” Then browse through the projects, find one (or a few!) that works for you and sign-up!
Why is it a whole month this time?
We want to make a large impact – an entire month gives us ample time to do so. We also want to give prospective volunteers plenty of time to get involved. We know how busy people’s schedules are, so this time, we’re trying to ensure everyone who wants to participate is able to.
Who are the partners involved?
So far, our partners and those involved in the planning committee are Home Works of America, United Way of the Midlands, SCANA Corporation, Walmart, Nexsen Pruet, University of South Carolina Student Government, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Palmetto Health, University of South Carolina, Richland School District One, One Columbia, Community Development, Richland School District One, SCANA, Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Columbia Urban League, Keep the Midlands Beautiful and the Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR).
